Ventilation testing ensures that the air flow of a ventilation system is of an acceptable standard.

If you are developing a new building, extension or conversion which contains ventilation systems then you will need to make sure that these comply with building regulations.

Why do I need a Ventilation Test?

Ventilation systems ensure that the indoor air quality of new builds is a healthy standard. They are required in order to meet Part F of Building Regulations.

Home are becoming increasingly airtight to improve energy efficiency. This means that air flow can be compromised. Therefore, it is important to have an effective ventilation system.

Rooms which need testing include: Kitchens, Utility rooms, W/C’s and Bathrooms.

How can I pass a Ventilation Test?

Testing is a straightforward process, so long as you have taken the appropriate measures to ensure your systems are effective:

  • Where possible, avoid flexi-ducting and try to instead use rigid ducting. (If unavoidable, then do not use excess flexi-ducting).
  • Avoid using roof-tile outlets where possible and instead aim to vent out through external walls.
  • Ensure that extract fans meet requirements of approved document F.
We always use the latest UKAS calibrated equipment. If your project also requires Air Testing then you can save time and money by booking in bulk. Passing Building Regulations shouldn’t be a stressful process. Our expert team are here to assist in any way possible.
